DEFENDING FORMULA ONE CHAMPION Sebastian Vettel threw a violent frenzy after yesterday's German Grand Prix after finding out he had been given a 20-second penalty, denying him a podium finish in his home race.

Red Bull driver Vettel originally finished second behind race winner Fernando Alonso but that penalty means that Jenson Button of McLaren inherits the position, with Kimi Räikkönen promoted to third. Vettel was penalised for illegally overtaking British driver Button, dropping him to fifth behind the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi.

Vettel, after being told the news, went berserk and trashed the Red Bull garage, yelling "STUPID BUTTON!!! STUPID McLAREN!!! BUTTON MUST DIE!!!!!!" He then chased Button around the Hockenheim circuit wielding a wrench.

Button's McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton also had nothing to smile about, as he retired from his 100th Grand Prix, being the only driver in the race to do so.
