2008 WORLD CHAMPION Lewis Hamilton threw a loud fit at the Foster Grand Prix yesterday after his attempt to overtake New Zealander Scott Dixon, making his Fan-Fiction F1 debut, ended with the Briton retiring.

Hamilton's Mercedes suffered a broken suspension and he parked up on the side of the road. He reacted to this by yelling "What the f@ck was that about?! STUPID F@CKING MERCEDES!!! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!" where he let the F-word slip twice.

Hamilton had won the previous race, at the Maple Race Track, by inches from Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen, and broken the British jinx that had been causing problems for his fellow Britons, Jenson Button, Paul di Resta and Max Chilton.

Button won the race ahead of his Mexican team-mate Sergio Pérez. Dixon gave his newly-founded team Corduroy F1 something to smile about by taking third in the team's first race.

Polesitter Räikkönen also retired from the race after his engine failed him.
