Stage 1: Kilmarnock-Glasgow[edit | edit source]

The first stage of the tour began in Kilmarnock town square. David Coulthard led into the first turn as three-time Formula One champion Jackie Stewart proved that there is life in the old dog yet by sprinting into second.

As the drivers entered the M77 motorway, Alister McRae, brother of the late WRC legend Colin, got lost and went for a round of golf at the Eastwood Golf Course, before getting disqualified from the race for wasting time.

Coulthard won the stage ahead of Stewart, and four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti.

Stage 2: Glasgow-Dundee[edit | edit source]

The second stage of the tour saw Marino Franchitti, Dario's brother, retire before it even started, as his headlights were mysteriously nicked in the night.
